Join staff from the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy's (EGLE) Dam Safety Unit for a regional workshop for dam owners and operators.

This workshops will include a full-day classroom portion intended to provide dam owners and operators, local emergency management personnel, dam safety consultants, and others with the essential knowledge necessary to understand Michigan’s Dam Safety regulations, how dams fail, emergency preparedness and response for dam emergencies, and proper operation and maintenance procedures to ensure that dams do not fail.  The workshop will also offer an additional half-day field trip on the second day where participants will perform two mock dam safety inspections and have the opportunity to interact with several dam safety experts while in the field.  Lunch and refreshments will be provided on the first day, refreshments only on the second day.
