Local Governments on the “Road to 2030”
The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy's (EGLE's) Catalyst Communities program will hold a workshop specifically for Michigan's local government leaders (elected and appointed officials, and staff) prior to the kickoff of the MI Healthy Climate Conference on April 22 (separate registration required for the MI Healthy Climate Conference).
All local government staff, elected officials, and appointed officials are invited to the Catalyst Communities pre-conference workshop from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Huntington Place in Detroit to celebrate successes, share challenges, and deepen connections within the community of local government sustainability practitioners. In keeping with the conference theme of “Road to 2030,” we want to hear from you about your most pressing needs and challenges and more importantly we want to celebrate all that you’ve accomplished.
We’ll be sharing funding and technical assistance available to local governments and celebrating 16 years of the Michigan Green Communities program (with cake!). Join your colleagues as we reflect on the accomplishments, create space for community building, and come together to envision the future for the local government sustainability community. Come prepared to join your colleagues in sharing your accomplishments and vision for the future of sustainability in Michigan!
Participation is limited to those directly associated with local governments (local government staff, elected officials, and appointed officials). Consultants that are not currently expressly working on behalf of a local government on this specific issue need not attend.
Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
