The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy's (EGLE) Drinking Water Operator Program is offering an in-person Surface Water Treatment course in Bay City, Michigan. This course will include question and answer opportunities with the course instructors.

This 2.5-day short course, previously branded as Water Treatment 1, will cover a variety of topic areas related to the treatment of drinking water. This course includes topics such as basic math, rules and regulations, source water, pumping systems, coagulation, mixing, sedimentation, fluoridation, disinfection and chlorination, direct filtration, membrane filtration, laboratory analysis, coagulation calculations, duties of operators, ethics, water storage, corrosion control, chemical feed systems, cybersecurity, filtration, softening, disinfection byproduct precursors, and filtration problems.

Only 55 seats are available.

     Registration Fee:  $275  

     Registration/Cancellation Deadline:  April 3, 2026

     Continuing Education:  Course provides 1.9 CECs in the Technical category for Drinking Water                 Operators.  Course Code 348
