The Midwest Climate and Energy program takes bold and urgent action on the climate crisis by dramatically cutting greenhouse gas emissions and advancing an equitable clean energy transition. 

The Kresge Foundation was founded in 1924 to promote human progress. Today, Kresge fulfills that mission by building and strengthening pathways to opportunity for low-income people in America’s cities, seeking to dismantle structural and systemic barriers to equality and justice. Using a full array of grant, loan, and other investment tools, Kresge invests more than $160 million annually to foster economic and social change.

The U-M School for Environment and Sustainability aims to transform higher education and its impact through research, teaching, and engagement in society. It is focused on solving the climate crisis and creating a world that is economically robust, environmentally sound, sustainable and just, from the scale of watersheds and communities in Michigan to the entire planet.
