Upper Peninsula Water Operator Courses

 

The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy's (EGLE) Drinking Water Operator Program is offering in-person courses in the Upper Peninsula. These courses will include questions and answer opportunities with the course instructors.

September 7-8, 2022 - Water Math Basics

The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) developed this In-person series for all operators struggling with math or who need to establish the base work for advanced math computation. These sessions will help establish the background knowledge required to progress to the next stage of math for water operators.

The Course is approved for 0.8 CECs in the technical category for drinking water and wastewater operators. To be eligible for CECs, you must attend the entire session,  and be a paid registrant.

 

This course is comprised of 2 sessions held on September 7-8, 2022

Registration Fee:  $75 includes both sessions.

Continuing Education:  Course provides 0.8 CECs

Day 1

2:55-5:00pm – Areas & Volumes, Velocity, Temperature Conversions

8:15-10:15am – Hydraulics, Continuity, Intro to Chemical Dosing

September 8, 2022 - Cross Connections, Drinking Water

Drinking Water Course Code: 3097; Wastewater Course Code: 2903

The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) developed this shortened version of cross connections, its laser focused on learning the bare essentials. The focus on being what is a cross connection, the main causes and concerns of cross connections, what are laws regarding cross connections, and the 5 main ways for protecting systems from back flow. We will look at a few real situations that were encountered in different facilities out in the field.

The Course is approved for 0.2 CECs in the technical category for drinking water and wastewater operators. To be eligible for CECs, you must attend the entire session,  and be a paid registrant.
